New Surface Pattern Look Book & GTS!

Well it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve had chance to post here and I’m feeling a little guilty, so please forgive me?  I’ve had a good excuse though because as well as being busy working on some fun freelance projects, I’ve also been working hard on my submission for this years Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search AND to top it all off I’ve been ill the whole time, sniff sniff!  In fact I’m still not feeling great but just felt I had to pop back on here in case you all thought I’d done a runner….nope I’m still here!

I’ve never entered Lilla’s GTS before so I didn’t know quite what to expect but I enjoyed every minute of it.  It’s a bit like X-Factor for Artists, Illustrators & Designers but more classy!  It’s split into rounds and I’ve just submitted a piece of work into the first round which gets whittled down to a shortlist of 50.  I can’t wait to share my artwork with you but until the gallery goes live on her website I think we’re meant to keep it under wraps, so in the meantime I thought I’d share my latest Surface Pattern Look Book with you.  Remember the Look Book I put together for Prairie?  Well it was so popular that I decided to create another one to showcase some of my latest designs and the products they’ve been used on….with a few mock-ups thrown in there too.  Who can resist doing a good mock-up?!

I’ve also given my website a little sprucing up too and have added some new designs to my Portfolio Section and I’ve created a brand new page which is now the home to all my Look Books so you can always pop back and have a browse through them.  I hope you enjoy them and would love to know what you think to them?  Do you think they’re a good way to preview designs? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll be posting again as soon as I can share my GTS entry with you!

Oh I totally didn’t realise this was happening again this year! I followed it and a lot of the designers last year, so it was fun seeing what everybody did! I’m pretty sure a lot of people posted about it before the gallery went live though?

      Hi Lauren.
Yes it’s back on again this year! This is my first year entering and although I didn’t get through to the next round, I’ve loved taking part and creating the piece of artwork for the fun brief. We were asked to keep from sharing our submissions until the gallery went live, which it did today, so I’ve shared mine in a new blog post here http://rebeccastoner.co.uk/global-talent-search-2014/ and I’ve included links to both the galleries which show some amazing pieces. I hope you enjoy looking though it all.
      Rebecca
