Wow, another month has just flown by! It feels like it’s been a really productive month and it’s certainly been another busy one as I’ve gained some lovely new clients and some exciting new projects to work on! I’m loving how varied the projects are too, for example, a lasercut wood project which I finished the other week (hoping to have photos of the finished product soon!), a big lasercut metal and window vinyl project that I’ve recently priced for and a new fabric design client who I’ve been working with to create lots of new designs to add to their existing line of fabrics. I’m feeling very thankful for all the wonderful projects that are coming my way at the moment.

These are some samples I had cut for a lasercut wood commission I’d been working on for Oxford Planters
In between the madness of designing, pricing, answering emails, making phone calls (all of which I love!), I’ve still managed to take some time out to be creative without the pressure of it being for anything in particular. I’ve still been enjoying using my marker pens and have created quite a few brand new collections from some of the drawings I’ve done with them.
I also signed up to Creative Bug’s online courses the other month and have been working my way through lots of those. One course that I loved in particular was the amazingly talented Yao Chen’s Watercolour Class. If you’ve not discovered her work then I really recommend having a look as her paintings are just stunning! I’ve always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with watercolours and I’ve really struggled with them (I think it’s the control freak in me!) but since taking her course I’ve started to loosen up a bit and tried to embrace the unpredictability of them. I even treated myself to a new set of beautiful Windsor and Newton paints to get me started!
The Spring Blossoms is from a painting I did for this month’s downloadable digital Desktop calendar. If you’d like to have your own copy then all you need to do is subscribe to my Newsletter which you can do here and you’ll get a link when it goes out soon. If you’re already subscribed then don’t worry as you’ll get yours anyway!
I hope you have a lovely start to May and that your creative journey is going well. I’d love to hear about any new techniques or mediums you’ve been working in recently, so please do tell me in the comments below
