Fabulous February!

Fabulous February! Or maybe that should be Frantic February!  I thought I’d do a little round up of the month as I’ve lots of things I’ve been wanting to share with you.  As you know from my last blog post it’s been a busy old month, so grab yourself a cuppa and have a look at what’s been happening….

NEW STOCKISTS
As promised, I thought I’d tell you a bit more about the new stockists I now sell my work through. It all started with my ‘I Love Sewing’ collection which I began selling in my Etsy shop.  Not long after I’d uploaded the Sewing Journal, Sewing Notecards and I Love Sewing Art Print, I began getting enquiries about stocking shops with them.  I was thrilled, especially as some of them were already stockists of my Dashwood Studio Prairie Fabrics! It seemed like the perfect opportunity.  So here are the handful of lovely shops that are now stocking some of my sewing themed products.  You should go and check them all out as they are all gorgeous shops!

NEW SURFACE PATTERN COMMISSION – YORK HOSPITAL
I’ve also been working on another big project at York Hospital.  This time the commission was to create surface pattern designs that would go on glass panels fitted into some pods that are going to be installed on one of the Day Surgery Wards.  The pods will be used as a private consultation area for patients waiting to go down for surgery.  The staff on the ward had seen some of my other work around the Hospital and had asked me to create something similar for them.  They particularly liked my Meadow designs that I created for one of the Oncology wards so I took inspiration from those and created a pretty botanical design featuring meadow flowers, grasses and butterflies.  The work is currently being manufactured but here’s a peek at one of the panel designs.  The designs will be printed using frosted effect vinyl.

CRAFT HOBBY AND STITCH SHOW
I managed to take a ‘day off’ from the studio during February to visit the Craft Hobby and Stitch show at the NEC in Brimingham.  I went to catch up with the lovely Dashwood Studio and chat about my next fabric collection with them, which I’m really excited about and I also went to see one of my freelance clients that I design for which was also exciting as I got to see a recent collection I’d designed for them actually on products, which always feels amazing!

NEW DESIGNS & PRODUCTS
As my Etsy shop has been doing so well since I opened it, I’ve been trying to keep it updated regularly with lots of new products.  So if you’ve not been over there for a little while why not pop over and have a look?  With Mother’s Day just around the corner I’ve been adding some gift ideas to the shop, like this new Recipe Notebook, perfect for jotting down any baking or cooking ideas and your favourite recipes.

There’s also this beautiful Art Print which would certainly tell someone just how much they are loved.

Well those were the main parts to February in a nutshell!  March is looking equally as fun/busy as one of the new projects I’ve been commissioned to do is create surface pattern designs for kimono’s, so watch this space! I hope February was good to you too and would love to hear what you’ve been up to so do let me know in the comments below.
